reconnect

What are the things that truly make you YOU?

This is something I have struggled with & still work on. I got married while still at uni; within a year of leaving uni I had my first child, closley followed by my second, all whilst running a family restaurant. And then a divorce, a new relationship, another child, a new career, another separation…not surprisingly, all of these things left me feeling like I had no idea who I was.

The things that have helped me to reconnect are all included on our retreat and I hope they will help you reconnect with yourself too.

If you have never experienced a sound bath before, you are in for a really special treat when Sharon brings her amazing singing bowls on the second evening of our retreat.

“You are taken on a journey within, using the sound of Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls and my voice, using toning & over-toning” Sharon

“Our bodies are made of vibrating frequencies , each and every organ has its own frequency. When we are unwell we are simply out of tune , and like a musical instrument, need to be tune back to the right vibrational frequency. I use certain sounds to allow the body to tune back and vibrate in the right harmonious frequency. Also using these sounds allow the brain to go into theta brain wave, which put the body into optimum state , in which it does its own healing & cell rejuvenation.” Sharon of Cosmic Healing

Touch therapy is another very powerful tool which can help us to reconnect and you will have a full-body relaxation massage as part of your retreat package.

“The impulse to ease discomfort with touch is an instinctual one, whether the discomfort is physical, mental or emotional. Touch has the power to comfort and calm; and this sets the stage for healing of all sorts, whether we are speaking biologically, psychologically, socially or spiritually” Til Luchau

Charlotte and I are both Jing-trained advanced clinical massage therapists but we will be setting aside some of our deep tissue work to give you a deeply relaxing, restorative full-body massage in one of our treatment spaces at the retreat venue.

Meditation always felt like something I couldn’t do (& I still struggle) but this year I decided to give it a try and it’s not so scary as I thought it would be!

“You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it is better to listen to what it has to say” Paul Coelho – The Alchemist

At our retreat meditation will take the form of simple, short, guided practice – focusing on the breath and how we feel. No chanting. No soul-bearing. No hours and hours of sitting in silence. Nothing scary but so much to gain. If it’s something new to you, I think you’ll love it.

Everything we do is optional. If something seems a bit weird at first you’re very welcome to observe and join in if you want to, or you can spend some quiet time reading, walking, napping instead, but obviously the more you join in, the more you’ll take home with you too…
