My journey in fitness started over 20 years ago when I first attended some pretty full-on fitness classes and realised how much movement could influence my state of mind. As I’ve got older, I no longer seek the same kind of fitness, preferring instead to enjoy simple, flowing, meditative movement. I love to walk, stretch and feel in tune with how my body moves.

At our retreat we will be moving every day with a variety of Pilates, yoga and stretch sessions, as well as relaxed walks in the beautiful countryside surrounding us.

take time retreats

We will focus on movement which opens up and releases any tightness in your body. Our goal is also to introduce you to simple movement strategies that you can take back home at the end of the retreat.

And in case you prefer something a bit more energetic, there is space & time to run and there is an outdoor tennis court at the venue too.

It is not unusual to feel nervous about attending a pilates or yoga class, especially with all the incredible images we see on social media! We will not be asking you to tie your body in knots or perform headstands!!

Pilates and yoga both focus on the connection between mind and body and that is what Charlotte and I will bring to the movement sessions on the take time retreat.

“Fitness Pilates gives you the opportunity to move your body in a less ‘mechanical’ way. It provides a perfect balance to more energetic forms of exercise & helps you to tune-in to how you feel”

I teach my own style of Fitness Pilates which aims to restore functional movement to the body, opening up any restricted areas and creating space and time for you to tune-in to how you feel. You can do as much or as little as you choose – everything I teach will be adapted to suit you.

Charlotte (on the floor here) is bringing her unique brand of yoga to the retreat and I couldn’t be more excited to have her there with us.

“Being open to moving, experiencing, feeling, connecting with ourselves and with others will make our experience of life that much richer. In my yoga classes, I aim to create a space for people to spend time with themselves, move, breathe and simply be. This was the joy that I experienced when I first discovered Yoga and continue to, and this is what I would like to pass on” Charlotte Preston

Please know that whatever your previous exercise experience or fitness level, you will be fully supported by me and Charlotte in our movement sessions. We are there to help you move and enjoy that sense of connection with your body and we can’t wait to see you on the mat.
